The Requirment

The existing vinyl flooring in the depot office and corridor area had worn through, lifted around access hatches, and was no longer fit for a busy operational environment. The client required a hard-wearing, slip-resistant replacement that could withstand heavy daily foot traffic, be easy to clean, and meet current safety standards — installed without disrupting day-to-day depot operations.

Our Solution

4 Construction Management delivered the works end-to-end, programmed to suit the depot’s operational requirements. The full scope of works included:

Cleared and protected the works area — desks, chairs and equipment moved aside
Stripped out all existing worn vinyl flooring across the 9.8m x 2.3m area
Cut out and prepared damaged areas around access hatches and service points
Prepared substrate to a sound, level finish ready for new floor covering
Supplied and laid new Altro slip-resistant safety flooring throughout
Heat-welded seams and dressed edges for a watertight, hygienic finish
Reinstated access hatches and service covers cleanly into the new floor
Full clean-down and snag walk before handover — depot back in full use

Outcome

A fully replaced, slip-resistant Altro safety floor — durable, hygienic, easy to clean, and ready for years of heavy depot use. Delivered with minimum disruption to live operations.
